Practice Opportunity Analysis™

Vet Met’s proprietary data extraction tool and an analysis process give us unprecedented insight into your practices’ client and pet populations. The process of capturing and standardizing your data is complex, but you’d never know it because the work we do behind the scenes goes virtually unnoticed—until you see the results.

Once the data is mapped and analyzed, you are no longer looking at just words and numbers; you’re looking at meaningful information about your practice, your clients and their pets. Multiple analyses can be performed and benchmarking reports that compare your practice to other practices, so you can determine where you’re excelling and falling short in comparison to your colleagues. This information is a key step in developing best practices for the way you run your business

The Reports

Once the data extraction process is complete, a comprehensive collection of reports provides insight into your practice in the following areas:

  • Wellness Reports
  • Client Communications Reports

Vet Met Wellness Reports

Four separate reports identify missed opportunities in the exam room. Rates of consumption for all pets that visited your practice within the past 12 months are captured, measured and segmented in the following categories:

  • Feline and Canine – measures clients’ compliance and perceived value of services and products by species.
  • Services – measures client compliance to wellness recommendations and reminders for vaccinations and preventive care services, such as dental exams, etc.
  • Products – measures product sales and performance, as well as, client compliance to wellness recommendations and reminders.

Vet Met Client Communication Reports

Studies show that up to 40 percent of pets that visited a veterinary practice within the past 12 months are not scheduled to receive service or product reminders within the next year*. Ongoing client communication, or the lack thereof, has a significant impact on the success of your practice. The following reports measure the effectiveness of your client communication efforts.

  • Reminder Items Audit – clients are segmented by the type and frequency of communications they are scheduled to receive. Clients who are not currently scheduled for reminders are also easily identified. In addition, services and products not included in any reminder or marketing mailings are identified.
  • Reminder Database Analysis – examines the practice’s ability to capture and maintain key information pertaining to client, pet, and reminder records.
