Jack Satterfield, Jr.
Director, Client Applications

Mr. Satterfield has 22 years of experience in the veterinary industry, primarily in distribution. Most recently, he served as the director of information services and technology and director of operations for a large regional distribution company. In that position, Mr. Satterfield managed and directed the development and implementation of major business management systems. He oversaw the design and implementation of distribution and operation processes in distribution facilities. And he was responsible for the development of new systems designed to enable automated B2B processes between distribution and veterinary clinics. Mr. Satterfield was a co-founder of digitalDVM-a technology company that focused on integration solutions for non-compatible legacy computer systems, allowing practices to communicate electronically with manufacturers and distributors for purchasing and fulfillment of products and supplies. He continues to provide creative and innovative ideas for the ongoing development of Veterinary Metrics' software and systems toolkit.

Alan Shackelford
General Manager

Mr. Shackelford has spent 17 years working in all three areas of the veterinary industry: manufacturing, distribution and veterinary practice. As a manufacturer's representative and regional sales manager, he was responsible for corporate communications with 12 veterinary pharmaceutical distributors and 239 direct sales representatives. Later, he founded a consulting firm that provided hardware and software consulting services to veterinary practices, focusing on practice management, inventory control, business processes and workflow issues. Hired by a super-regional distributor company to lead a just-in-time, vendor-managed inventory project for veterinary practices, Mr. Shackelford led the development of a B2B exchange for distributor customers, and he managed the testing of the exchange in veterinary practices. He left that company to co-found digitalDVM-a technology company that focused on integration solutions for non-compatible legacy computer systems, allowing practices to electronically participate with manufacturers and distributors for purchasing and fulfillment of products and supplies. The digitalDVM software provides the basic infrastructure platform for Veterinary Metrics by allowing electronic communication of data between practices and business partners.
